At All Areas Access, we offer training for the three main levels of IRATA certification:

IRATA Level 1

Entry Level

This is the foundational course for those new to the industry. As an IRATA Level 1 technician, you will learn to perform a specified range of rope access tasks under the close supervision of a Level 3 safety supervisor. No previous experience is required to enrol in this course. It’s the perfect entry point for anyone looking to start their rope access career.

IRATA Level 2

Intermediate Level

For experienced rope access technicians, the Level 2 course expands your skill set. You will be trained to perform more complex rigging and rescue operations under the supervision of a Level 3 safety supervisor. This course focuses on developing the skills to assemble and implement hauling systems and handle a variety of rescue situations.

IRATA Level 3

Advanced & Supervisory Level

The Level 3 course is for experienced technicians ready to take on a supervisory role. You will gain a deep understanding of rope access procedures, including how to develop method statements and risk assessments. This course covers advanced rigging and rescue techniques, ensuring you are fully prepared to manage on-site safety and lead a team. A current and appropriate first-aid certificate is required to take this course.

The IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) training course provides the skills and certification required to work as a professional rope access technician. This certification is recognised worldwide and is the industry standard for safe work at height.

The Level 1 course is the entry point for anyone looking to start a career in rope access. It is designed for complete beginners and requires no prior experience.

As a Level 1 technician, you will learn fundamental rope access tasks, including basic rigging and rope manoeuvres, under the direct supervision of a Level 3 technician.

To be eligible for the Level 2 course, you must be a certified IRATA Level 1 technician with a minimum of 1,000 logged working hours and at least 12 months of experience.

A Level 2 technician is an experienced professional capable of performing more complex rigging, undertaking rescues from various situations, and assembling and implementing hauling systems.

The Level 3 course is for experienced technicians who are ready to move into a supervisory role. Candidates must have extensive experience and hold a current and appropriate first-aid certificate.

A Level 3 technician is a supervisor who is responsible for understanding and implementing rope access procedures, risk assessments, and method statements. They have an extensive knowledge of advanced rigging and rescue techniques.

All IRATA training courses typically run for five days, with four days of training and a one-day assessment.
